I could write all over these cutie cute notepads and journals. (found here)

recipe cards
My ma has the absolute best collection of recipes. She has this little chest that is full of handwritten recipe cards from all kinds of family and friends. I loved looking through it as a kid. Not only are they great recipes, but there is so much history and love in those cards.
So for Christmas, I was lucky to get some items to start my own recipe collection! I have already written down a couple of my favorite internet recipes, and I look forward to adding more.
Some more cute recipe cards for when I need more (found here):
love stamps
This morning we looked at a wedding venue! Just to see. Because we are getting married. (I still can’t believe it sometimes.)
We don’t know exactly when or where we are going to get married yet, but I do know I want a more handmade, love-filled, meaningful, our-aunts-each-bring-a-pie type of wedding. I was browsing invitation inspiration, and came across some wedding stamps. The hand lettering on each of these is beautiful, and I love the handmade and unique result of stamping.
stripes and polka dots
They match. Deal with it. (from here)
flowers for hours
I go through phases of looking at different wedding things. Last week I spent forever looking at invitations, yesterday it was dresses, and today was the day for flowers. I found this cheery bouquet on pinterest.
red elephant
So this elephant isn’t red, but I made a red with tiny polka dots version the other day, and it was so cute! It would make a great last minute gift, if you would like me to make one for you! (wink wink)
A note to Santa
This is a really great video done by some folks within the agency I work at featuring the Galaxy Note 10.1. I know that it’s a pure product promo, but I think it’s really well done and it reminds me a little bit of the Google Chrome commercials that tug at your heart-strings a little bit. And I’m a firm believe that Santa uses Excel too which is another reason I like this video. Santa likes to nerd out too!
window shopping
When I first heard of Fab, I thought, oh great, another one of those sites that will send me 500 emails. But I was wrong. They are awesome. I get to see all kinds of products and designers I wouldn’t normally see. And they are cool. For instance, I probably wouldn’t have seen these beautiful prints if it weren’t for Fab:
Cool vintage-style world prints.
Fun and simple city prints, like this one of Austin.
Sweet collection of infographic style prints, like a map of culinary tools.
Another good idea stolen by someone else
So this weekend while the Girl was baking up a storm, I had an idea that someone should be making phone and tablet accessories that protected people’s devices while they used them to look up recipes and cook in the kitchen! I had thought I was on to something because when I searched for the phrase “case for phone while cooking or baking” it returned limited results that appeared promising to me that I might have stumbled across an untapped market…
That is until I found www.chefsleeve.com which looks like they have a fairly good stranglehold on the cooking/baking protective cases for the iPad and iPhone. I have to admit that their cutting board with iPad holder is simple, yet ingenius…
Oh well! Maybe there’s still time for me to tap into the Android market…
