1. Shrimp and broccoli rabe. We had a bunch of broccoli rabe ready to pick in the garden, so we wanted an easy recipe to try. I don’t think we got the rabe right- it turned out really crispy and nothing like the picture- but the shrimps were tasty.
2. Broccoli and kale pasta bake. Yummy. I thought I had the sauce part all wrong, but turned out just fine. Would make again.
3. Sardine pasta with lemon and garlic. We’ve been trying to incorporate sardines into our meals, and we made a version of this. It was actually pretty good, and little dude couldn’t eat enough of it.
4. Banana yogurt muffins. Weren’t my favorite. Probably won’t make again. Maybe it was the sunflower seeds we used?

oh honey
What a sweet spring gift- little honeycomb treats wrapped up with a handmade bee card.
egg inspiration
B is going through this really phenomenal stage where he excitedly “oooh!”s at everything we do or hold. I brought some lunch plates over to the table, and he greeted me with a loud “oooooh!” Like I had arrived with the most magnificent unicorn, instead of plates of cut up veggies. I hope he does this forever. Anyway, he’s got great enthusiasm, and I’m looking forward to dying eggs with him. Until then, these pretty eggs I’m sure even the Easter bunny would be happy to find. From here and here.

These are such gorgeous cakes! So colorful and intricate. I know my 10-year-old self would have been in awe over the treat covered ones, and my current self loves the flower ones. Too pretty to eat! From @unbirthdaybakery on Instagram!

How pretty are these pressed flower designs? I wouldn’t mind a hive full of flower bees!
festive fall
The leaves are definitely falling, and its time to figure out a tiny costume for the little guy. We always called him a little pumpkin while he was growing, but he would honestly look adorable in anything. Also, our oven has been broken, but as soon as it is repaired, we are so excited for all the baking (like that pear crisp) and roasting!
the return of longhorn football
Jon is so happy to have his football back. We try to plan an appropriate meal every weekend to go with the game, like burgers or chili, but how fun are these hook em donuts!
