i pre-ordered stamps

That’s right. Its like I don’t even know myself anymore.

I think I am almost finally done with our invitations. It will actually be kinda weird when they are done, because I will have to find something else to occupy all my time.

But anyway, I really wanted neat stamps for the envelopes. Like these cool groupings. But do you know how much old stamps cost? A lot more than new stamps. Thankfully, the post office actually has some pretty stamps! I pre-ordered these vintage seed packet stamps a while back, and they are gorgeous! I also like these and these. Who knew I would obsess over stamps someday?

spring craft break

I took a pretend Spring Break to go home and do wedding crafts with my ma. It was the best thing ever. We did some painting, a little printing and coloring, some fabric finding, and lots of spray gluing. Getting really pumped about all the new crafts and experiments we have planned!

It was my dear Ma’s birthday last week. I like to make her blank note cards, and since there was just a new baby cow born on the farm, I made a bunch of little cow cards. The little gang of paper cows were very rowdy before I glued them to their cards. They were so adorable, I wanted to eat them.

And that is how the idea of these cards came to be. I sewed the little card pockets together, then added the middle insert. I like the extra element of suspense and surprise. And in case you were nervous, they all said yes.

And the quote is from Bridesmaids, of course.

Those little conversation hearts are always one of my favorite parts of Valentine’s season. I think I still have boxes of them hoarded from last year…

I sewed up this little plush rendition for my Valentine. Hope he gets the subliminal message.

I am lucky that I babysit two of the cutest kids in the world. I have known them since they were born, so it has been a treat to watch them grow into tiny 4-year-old and 2-year-old people.

Little Miss Zoe was a no-brainer here, since she loves pink and girly things, which is perfect for a flower girl. She already thinks she gets to be a princess in the wedding.

But Noah was a bit of a thinker. There are no good ring-bearer things, since weddings are a little girly anyway, and two-year-old boys like cars and throwing things. So I came up with a little dump truck, and went with the “carry” theme. Get it???

This morning we looked at a wedding venue! Just to see. Because we are getting married. (I still can’t believe it sometimes.)

We don’t know exactly when or where we are going to get married yet, but I do know I want a more handmade, love-filled, meaningful, our-aunts-each-bring-a-pie type of wedding. I was browsing invitation inspiration, and came across some wedding stamps. The hand lettering on each of these is beautiful, and I love the handmade and unique result of stamping.

My mom, sister, and I made these for a little crafting experiment. I like the idea of a little fabric or paper banner for the wedding, so we tried out a couple tutorials we found to see what we could make. We used this tutorial for the little tissue tassels, and this tutorial for the big pom pom. I have seen some more tutorials since for the tissue tassels that might be a little better, and I have pinned them here.

I really enjoy the making and creating of things (obviously), so I am looking forward to more wedding projects to see what I like best!

Who said pumpkins are just for fall?

We spray painted all the things gold. For the pumpkins, we spray painted them, cut some decorative holes, and made them into festive lanterns. We also gold-ified some squashes, pinecones, and branches. They all made lovely decorations for a very special occasion.
