i pre-ordered stamps

That’s right. Its like I don’t even know myself anymore.

I think I am almost finally done with our invitations. It will actually be kinda weird when they are done, because I will have to find something else to occupy all my time.

But anyway, I really wanted neat stamps for the envelopes. Like these cool groupings. But do you know how much old stamps cost? A lot more than new stamps. Thankfully, the post office actually has some pretty stamps! I pre-ordered these vintage seed packet stamps a while back, and they are gorgeous! I also like these and these. Who knew I would obsess over stamps someday?

spring craft break

I took a pretend Spring Break to go home and do wedding crafts with my ma. It was the best thing ever. We did some painting, a little printing and coloring, some fabric finding, and lots of spray gluing. Getting really pumped about all the new crafts and experiments we have planned!

Choosing a wedding tie

It has been a fun challenge to find the perfect wedding tie. I searched high and low until I found the perfect tie from a site that the girl found called Pierrepont Hicks. It looked to be a burnt orange color that was pretty close to matching some of our wedding colors, but we weren’t sure because we were looking at it on a computer screen so I ordered it in hopes that it would match! I got it the other day and it was not as burnt orange as we thought it would be which was a good thing because it ended up matching perfectly and helped me check another item off my to-do list, find the perfect wedding tie.

The one on the left ended up being the winner.

I love these dresses. The dresses just look like they are ready for a party. Especially the dresses with the umbrellas. Those dresses are about to get crazy. I am always drawn to the mix-and-match florals and colors.

honeymoon searching

Everyone has a very strong opinion about where you should go on a honeymoon. Its one of the first things people started giving me advice on after we got engaged.

All I really want from a honeymoon is somewhere where you can see the stars, and breakfast. So maybe a cabin? Somewhere in the mountains or by the beach? Somewhere that brings breakfast to my door?photo from here

embroidered invitations

I am having a hard time finding invitations that I truly love. Maybe I am being picky. I think I have a general idea that is in my mind somewhere, and I can’t seem to find something that fits that idea.

I found these AMAZING invites from Rifle Paper Co the other day. They are custom, so you can’t buy them, but I really love the idea of them. Is hand embroidering 51 paper invitations crazy? Yes, it is. But it would be crazy awesome….

1. I like sewing on paper. 2. I haven’t sewed on paper in a while.

And that is how the idea of these cards came to be. I sewed the little card pockets together, then added the middle insert. I like the extra element of suspense and surprise. And in case you were nervous, they all said yes.

And the quote is from Bridesmaids, of course.

Stamps are one of the things that you never really think about. I am also constantly misplacing the stamps all over the house.

I like the look of the stamp groupings for wedding invitations. I like the color variations, and the eclectic stamps you can find. It just looks more fancy, like your envelopes has moved across space and time to announce your love.

The guy and I have been so productive today, and its only the afternoon. We went to the gym, made a nice breakfast, and have done so much wedding organizing! I just ordered a dress to try (ahhhh!), and ordered a bunch of paper for our save the dates.

Temporary tattoos for weddings? Awesome? I am going with yes. (this one found here)

Have you ever played with mural.ly? It is designed for online visual collaborations. I used it once a few months ago, and when I was trying to imagine wedding colors, it came to my mind again. The guy can’t imagine colors quite as easily as I can, so I wanted to make something visual that he could play around with.

I started by taking screenshots of individual color swatches. I used the cute heart swatches from here. I added them into a mural.ly board, and then started mixing and matching! It made it super easy to move colors around and try different combinations, compare the “feel” of each palette, and it was much easier for the guy to see what I was talking about.

I don’t know if the people at mural.ly envisioned the tool being used for wedding planning, but I could definitely see myself narrowing down my wedding pinterest board into one mood board to share with the guy for inspiration!
