These cards blend my love of drawing with my inner hair stylist. I really enjoyed using the different stitches to make the hair textures. Find them now in the shop!
Now I just need to find a flower crown that I can wear around all day.

Now I just need to find a flower crown that I can wear around all day.
And we have a final product! And it actually looks like a shirt, and is completely wearable in public, so that is a huge plus.
Its not quite perfect, but I think its a pretty solid first attempt. I also feel as if I have uncovered one of the world’s great secrets. Everybody is wearing clothes, but not everybody knows how they are made. I can join that secret club now.
Its fun to look back through the pictures and remember all the “firsts.” Also, all the calls and texts to my ma asking her if it was looking right.
Sometimes I just had to remind myself to go step-by-step, and it would magically become whatever it was supposed to be.
The continuous lap part. Thank goodness for youtube.
I’ve made buttonholes before, but I’ve never sewn on a button with the machine. The button foot is a little scary looking, but we made friends.

I’m excited to make another one! Maybe some spring fabric? Of course, now that my flannel shirt is done, the weather has decided to warm up a bit here.

Some new animal friends for ya! A shy little panda, and a curious mouse. I love the grey and pink combo of the mouse for Valentine’s! Find them both in the shop!
A couple bright new friends in the shop this week! A purple bunny, and a blue penguin.

I have a couple brand new animals coming in the next couple days, too!
I am sewing my first shirt! It is a button-up shirt, with a yoke, and sleeves, and everything. I love the idea of sewing some of my own clothes, so I am pumped to start practicing! I am instagramming some of the different stages, if you want to follow along. I got my fingers crossed that it will actually fit once I am finished!
According to the internet, we were probably supposed to get some adorable professional photos taken for Christmas for our newlywed year. And then we were supposed to send out a sweet holiday card to everyone that would arrive the week before. But instead, we spent the most of December attending parties, and then skipped town. No regrets.
But I do love a good Christmas card. And I know that I can only use wedding photos for so long before other people get tired of them. Solution: happy new year cards
I made them in similar style to our wedding invites, and used one of my favorite photos from our wedding. I love them, so I hope our family is happy to see them in the mail soon! I will have a slightly similar pattern of card available in my etsy shop soon!

I whipped up this trio of clutches right before Christmas, and they made perfect little gifts. Especially if you put a couple extra fun things inside each one. The fruit one went to my sister, along with an apple pie plate. Because I am clever like that.
I used this pattern here (for free!), and they came together really fast. I might make up a couple more with some extra fabric, to have on hand in case I am in a giving mood!

In the midst of the cold winter, let the cute cactus cards remind you that the sun is coming! A set of 3 cactus cards is new in the shop this week. A quick, fun craft for chilly evenings.

How does it look? After about 4 months, my first afghan is done! I finished all the granny squares about a month ago, and I decided on Friday afternoon to binge finish sewing it all together. So I settled in on the couch and weaved in all those pesky ends all night.
So far, its been a very helpful, cozy extra layer of warmth during the cold nights. It was made for serious snuggling.
Now time to start another one!
My sister needed a present to give to a little girl, and these are what she wanted to make. Sometimes, people say that they want to make something, and then somehow, I end up doing a lot of it. And you might not be able to tell from the picture, but these things are tiny, wee, little dolls.
I may have complained the entire way through making these, but really inside, I was not mad at all. Because look at their little faces, and their hair. You can’t be angry at that.
There are tutorials all over the internet of how to make these, in case you need some of your own.
