I don’t really like wearing my hair down in the summer. I have such a mass of it, and it gets so hot. So braids and ponytails are my jam. I also really like headbands to keep hair out of my sweaty face while I’m outside. After seeing some cute headbands around, I decided to try to make a couple of my own. These ones are a tied variety, with a bit of elastic. Next I want to try a stretchier fabric! Do you know of any good headband patterns?

eat and wear
Eat this swirly chocolate frosted cake, and wear your hair wavy too.
new in the shop: flower girls
These cards blend my love of drawing with my inner hair stylist. I really enjoyed using the different stitches to make the hair textures. Find them now in the shop!
Now I just need to find a flower crown that I can wear around all day.
obsessed with hats
It probably started with the floppy hat I HAD TO HAVE for Hawaii. I couldn’t possibly lay on the beach without one, and I am pretty sure it was the first non-food item my guy bought for me after we got married.
Hats are the coolest. A big old hat makes you look mysterious and awesome, especially if it hides your face a bit. So much drama. I also love that during some eras, your outfit wasn’t complete without a matching hat. It was necessary.
I just started a hats pinterest board, and I love it. If you like big hats, you’ll probably like it too!
back to basics
happiness and headbands
This guy makes me truly happy inside. You know what else makes me happy? This headband I made. Because my hair is always so big and puffy in this weather, and the headband really reins it in. And another thing that makes me happy? The boy that likes my big, fluffy hair.
I made the headband using this tutorial, and an old t-shirt. I am going to try another version this weekend.
party hair
These just look so girly and delicate. Maybe the balloons make me feel like I can’t attend a wedding party without one. Find them here.
