granny square blanket

My latest granny square blanket! In the past, I usually just sew my squares together with needle and yarn, but I tried joining them with a single crochet this time. I know there are lots of fancy ways to join squares, so I figured I might as well start working my way up. I really love how it turned out, especially the colors. What are you working on lately?

farm friends

I love this embroidery pattern. I feel like its says- you are my best friend and you are always there for me- but with farm animals instead of words.

I started this pattern while I was sick the other week. I still like to feel at least a little productive while I’m stuck on the couch. It reminded me of my younger sick days, and I would cross stitch while watching movies. Its just enough project to keep you busy, but not too much that it makes your fuzzy head hurt more.

a second t-shirt quilt

One down! All finished. A t-shirt quilt, comprised mostly of my extensive 4th grade Olympics shirt collection. I organized it in a lighter to darker color pattern going diagonally.

I finished it with a blue floral backing and binding. The binding probably took me the longest, since I did it by hand, and got a cold right in the middle that slowed me down. I added some little white ties to hold it all together. The batting is not too thick, so it feels like a light summer quilt. Totally picnic ready.

I have one more t-shirt quilt that needs a back, and one already made in the closet. They will be great fort material someday.

picking out a knit hat

I feel like I’m getting fairly good at knitting dishcloths. My hand/yarn coordination is still a little rough (so if you have any tips/good youtube videos, please let me know), but surely I’ll get better with more practice. Now I want to try my hand at an easy knit hat pattern! Emphasis on easy. These two are cute options, and hopefully, very forgiving.

sew storm

I’ve sewed up three quilt tops in the past week. I’m definitely on a roll. Two are quilts made from some scrap fabric, and one is another t-shirt quilt. Then, I’ll have just like a half dozen whole quilts to actually finish. I’m feeling confident at this point, but that may change soon. What are you making lately?

new in the shop: chamomile cards

In the fall, Jon and I would end the day with a nice cup of chamomile tea while we curled up on the couch together. We found some chamomile seeds to plant this spring, and we are excited to see the dainty flowers grow soon. Send a comforting hello with a stitched up chamomile card, now in the shop!

first day of spring skirt

Its the first day of spring, but the weather is playing it cool and acting like its not a big deal. I think a thunderstorm is predicted for later. But our newly planted seeds need some water anyway!

My second skirt for the upcoming season is this floral creation. I’ve already worn it a couple times. The pattern is super simple, and I added a little roundness to the hem in the back. A perfect breezy skirt for when it finally decides to be springtime.
