holiday cards
I agree that it is a tiny bit earlier to start thinking about holidays, but good DIY projects need the proper planning! Handmade items are worth some extra effort, and are also a good way to spend these new dark evenings. After dinner it looks like bedtime now, so its either sleep, or keep my hands busy so my eyes don’t automatically shut.
I have some new holiday pattern cards in the shop. They are kits, so you can make the cards yourself! They come patterned and everything, so they are ready to go once you get them. Just stitch them up, add some names at the bottom, and you got yourself some fancy holiday greetings.

not enough thank you’s
So of course, we are incredibly thankful for all the wedding love and support. We feel so lucky and blessed. But why didn’t anyone mention to me how grueling writing thank you notes was gonna be?? I spent a whole weekend making the actual cards, while racking my brain of all the different ways I could say thank you, we appreciate (insert house item here).
So I took my inspiration from the masters- our grandparents. They write the most wonderful handwritten cards, with just random stories and tidbits. So thank you, everyone, for all the thoughtful gifts and love. And also, please enjoy all our random stories about the new house, the seeds I just planted, the dolphins we saw on our honeymoon, and our new blinds.

bridesmaid cards
1. I like sewing on paper. 2. I haven’t sewed on paper in a while.
And that is how the idea of these cards came to be. I sewed the little card pockets together, then added the middle insert. I like the extra element of suspense and surprise. And in case you were nervous, they all said yes.
And the quote is from Bridesmaids, of course.
i would do anything for love
Good hygiene and health are a huge pro when looking for a potential mate. My guy inspired these little love note cards last year, because he would say sweet little things like these to me all the time. The cards are available in the shop, and ready to go for Valentine season, if you need to tell someone you care.
a card for a bridesmaid
You know all those cute little “Will you be my bridesmaid?” cards you see now? Well, I want that. I like the idea of doing something a little special. Its a big deal to me to get married, so hopefully it is a big deal for my besties. (I have it in my head that everyone hates being a bridesmaid. I blame the movies. I think its totally awesome.)
Anyway, I always love the peachy pink Rifle Paper Co. ones when I see them. (Even though it totally says yo instead of you, right?)
But I wanted them like right now, and didn’t want to wait for the shipping, so I played around with a little sketch of my own with marker and stamps. This is what my half-done version looked like:
But then I realized that I could be a little more creative than that. Sometimes I spend too much time browsing at things that are already made, and I just need that one moment of thought to spur a good idea. So I came up with something that was more me. And it features one of my most favorite crafts! I will share it here soon, but I just mailed them and don’t want to ruin the surprise.
no, thank you
During the holiday yesterday, I decided to remember how thankful I am, and make some thank you cards. My ma used to make us sit down and write thank you notes after every Christmas, but these ones are voluntary.
I got the idea for the triangle style heart off of pinterest, but now of course, I can’t seem to find it again. (Update: found it!) But I thought it was a cute idea for a little quilt-y looking heart. For a homemade heartfelt thank you.
(A pretty heart idea for Valentines too!)
