We decided we need more flowers. Not sure if we got enough…

little details
I have read lots of things online about the little details at weddings. From some wedding websites, you are led to believe by the amazing photos that all the little details matter. Others advise that by the day after, all people will really remember is the overall feeling, and won’t even be able to recall the centerpieces.
I have always been a very detailed oriented person, so the little details do matter to me, even if no one else notices. I love focusing on my little projects. I am really excited to spend the next week getting everything ready!
house painters
We spent a weekend painting the inside of our new house. The previous owner had crazy color walls. Like one wall in the living room was teal. The master bedroom was two shades of purple. They probably loved them, so naturally, it was the first thing we changed.
Painting is generally exhausting. All the arm movement just makes you feel sleepy. The first thing we did after we moved the furniture in was take a nap.
recipe card wedding rsvp
I thought this was one of my more brilliant ideas.
We included a recipe card with our RSVP cards, and asked our guests to write down a favorite recipe to mail back with their response. We thought it would be a great way to start our own little family recipe collection, with handwritten recipes from our loved ones.
It has been so fun to open the responses, and guess what kind of recipe they included. It has been more love than we could ever imagine.

one month
I am going to marry my one true love in one month. So I thought I would share some glamour shots of our wedding invitations today. I didn’t want to forget what they looked like, and how much work I put into them.

The invite is an embroidered design, and then I hand lettered them all. (I know.) The RSVP card is attached to a recipe card, and guests were asked to send back a favorite recipe with their response. I love my ma’s collection of hand written recipes, so I thought this would be a fun way to start our own collection. I also am really pleased with my stamp choices, and how they turned out in general. One of my best craft projects ever.

pool days
Its finally summer weather here in Austin. The all-encompassing heat has returned. I will miss the spring, and having to wonder if I needed a light jacket in the morning. From now on, I know that it will always be hot. But I am thankful for the sun, which I hope will give my skin enough color so I don’t blend in with my wedding dress.
First wedding gift
Last week was very exciting for us because we got our first wedding gift! It’s a big deal not because it’s a present, but because of what it represents and it means that we’re finally getting really close to our actual wedding date which is the most thrilling part. Leave it to my Grandma Susie (who is my adoptive Korean grandmother) to be the first one to send us an awesome gift.
- Well done Bed Bath & Beyond and your gift-wrapping services.
- A casserole dish! Now to decide what to make first…
vow making
I have had “write wedding ceremony” on my list of things to do for a couple weeks. I have been putting it off, because I really want it to be sweet and simple, but it seema kinda impossible to fit all our feelings in there. And then there is the writing of the only vows I will ever get to say to my precious fiance! I just really want the whole thing to be right.
So now I have about 50 tabs open on my browser to collect ideas! If you know any good resources, please let me know!
Hotel art
It’s always entertaining to see what type of art hotels choose to display, especially in their lobby. The rooster painting reminded me of the blue chickens that the girl and I painted a year or so ago at Painting with a Twist here in Austin. The other gallery this hotel had in the lobby was pretty cool, but I felt that they might have been trying a bit too hard to be a little too trendy…
