something i did today
I always tell Jon that the simple things I do during the day give me the most meaning. Makes me the most happy. So I thought I might chronicle them here. Today, I played in the dirt and transplanted some sad looking basil to what I hope will be a more pleasing home for them.
Are you a member of the simpler things club? What did you do today?
peach cobbler
We took an anniversary adventure to Fredericksburg last weekend. One of our main goals, besides celebrating our neverending love and devotion, was to obtain peaches. We are under the assumption that these peaches were picked fresh just for us. At this particular peach establishment, they also sold peach ice cream. So there were people sitting in rows of chairs, just silently eating peach ice cream. No words needed.
After we made it back home and took a nap, we promptly made a peach cobbler, with extra dashes of cinnamon, and with melty ice cream on top.

things that caught my eye/ seventeen
Some things I found this week:
- Funny animal cakes.
- I’ve been running in the sticky hot weather, and might need some more headbands to keep the hair from plastering itself to my face. Cute for non-running too.
- Peach sorbet. Really into peaches right now.
- These phone cases are real pretty.
- Do I need a watercolored painted summer scarf?
I can’t really believe that we will be married a whole year on Sunday. We are gonna spend the weekend doing everything we like to do together. Y’all have a good one! And here’s a picture of a tiny strawberry we grew with love, sunshine, and water.
floral summer shirt
Making good progress on the cute summer shirt collection over here! This week I added a floral sleeveless top, with a peter pan collar, and an asymmetrical hemline for a flowy, breezy look.
The fabric is a lightweight cotton for summer, and I like the watercolor look of the floral print. I also like that this is one of those kinds of pattens where, if I drip ice cream or something, its not completely noticeable (depending on the flavor of ice cream).

I read the directions wrong for the collar. I doubt it would have made much of a difference, and no one would be able to tell, but I would know. So out the stitches came.
And then it looked so much better the correct way, right???
And now, a grainy photo of the shirt being modeled. I ended up taking it in a bit on the sides because it was tooo flowy, but I am real happy with it now. I might add a couple little buttons near the collar too. (Please note the height of the tomato plants. They used to just be babies!)

rosemary and honey pecans
Its super satisfying to eat something you grew yourself. But using homegrown herbs always makes me feel extra fancy. We made these rosemary and honey pecans for some special guys for father’s day. Simple, fancy, tasty, and homegrown gift.
I’m no rosemary expert, but I would have to say that this is some of the prettiest rosemary ever. Freshly cut from the herb garden.
new in the shop: look at that fluffy unicorn
This unicorn isn’t too fluffy, so I hope no one dies. Find this magical horse in the shop now!
quilt fangirl
One of my favorite people to follow on instagram is Folk Fibers. She makes the most gorgeous quilts, with fabric she dyes using natural bits. Plus, she lives near Austin. This past weekend, we stopped by the Northern Grade market downtown, and she was there! With her quilts! AHHHHH!!!! The quilts are even more beautiful in person. Here is a picture of me just super happy standing in front of this masterpiece.
