Halloween just got super fun again. Can you guess what Baby B dressed up as? He really didn’t mind the outfit, except it got a little warm. We celebrated with a couple pumpkins, grilled cheeses and tomato soup, and some after bedtime candy.

festive fall
The leaves are definitely falling, and its time to figure out a tiny costume for the little guy. We always called him a little pumpkin while he was growing, but he would honestly look adorable in anything. Also, our oven has been broken, but as soon as it is repaired, we are so excited for all the baking (like that pear crisp) and roasting!

the fall garden
Our late summer garden wasn’t too impressive, but to be fair, we have been focusing most of our energy on growing a tiny human. I am looking forward to getting back outside in the dirt though! Especially with my new garden partner. For the fall, we are planning on some varieties of lettuce and kale, along with maybe a broccoli or two. Lots of good green veggies!
a new deck
Baby has a little corner in our room, so we didn’t do any big nursery makeover. But after he arrived, we did build a bigger deck! It’s been so nice to enjoy it while we get a little morning sun on our faces. We hope to move the grill up there and get a little table and chairs soon! Can’t wait for a little bit cooler weather!

the spinach patch
I am super surprised with how well our spinach is growing! I think it gets some shade during the hottest part of the day, but I’ve also been giving it fertilizer too. I harvest batches of leaves in the mornings, then soak them for a couple minutes in the salad spinner in some cold water and a dash of vinegar. I rinse and spin them a couple times, then let them dry a bit on a paper towel. I measure cupfuls into bags, then keep them in the crisper in the fridge. Our spinach stays much fresher for much longer than the store bought spinach!
