Some things I found this week:

Fun, colorful leather purses
Pretty ranch wedding. Having dinner in a field of flowers is the dream.
A DIY for something we actually need.
This quilt is a true work of art. Amazing.
Bread baking inspiration + homemade mascarpone cheese

Yesterday afternoon, it was humid and warm outside, and now this morning, it was chilly and windy. So who knows what the weekend will bring! The hope is to do lots of yardwork. Our rock path is almost finished, and then we can start on our garden plans.

Sometimes when I take photos for my shop, the models get bored.

Some things I found this week:

I think I could probably find a dress pattern that looks similar to this.
Rice krispie treat smore’s. Yes.
Thinking about sewing some bags to store bread. I think this fabric would be funny.
Use up some yarn scraps. I love their little tails.
Neat engraved rolling pins for fancy cookies.

We were lucky to catch the skywriting last night for Pi day. We literally walked out the front door for our evening walk, and caught them in the act. It was pretty mesmerizing to watch.

Some things I found this week:

This bag would have been a perfect farmer’s market tote.
Love the idea of sourdough breakfast pizza. I can’t wait to try pizza dough with my starter!
I loved contests as a kid, and I definitely would have entered this one!
Even the in progress photos of this little project look gorgeous.
I finally finished up this book, and it was so interesting. It really got me thinking about fermenting foods, and how it has always been a part of our culture and diet, until more recently. The argument behind feeding our whole body, and all the little organisms that work to keep us healthy, makes a lot of sense. We are gonna try our hand at maybe some carrots, sauerkraut, or kimchi (for that Korean husband of mine), and this hot sauce recipe seemed fairly simple too!

The guy spent last weekend SXSW-ing 24×7, so we are excited to spend a couple days together. We have a rock path to finish, some garden beds to make, cookies to deliver to friends, and some vegetables to ferment. Busy busy busy!

I need someone I know to have another baby so I can make this.

This is one of those weekends where everybody in the world comes to Austin to be all Austin-y. So I am going to bunker down at the homestead, make some like biscuits or something, and watch every episode of Sherlock again. And since I know what is going to happen, maybe I won’t hyperventilate so much this time.

Some things I found this week:

Crocheted and cross-stitched dish cloths
And of course, these amazing paper dresses

We got A LOT of rocks delivered this week, so our weekend will involve carrying and artfully laying those rocks in the yard. And after a day of that, it will probably also involve frozen yogurt.

My valentine roses were glorious, and only now starting to wilt a bit. I kinda like when the roses droop their heads and form perfect little ruffles.

Some things I found this week:

On a biscuit making mission this weekend.
We’ve never tried to make crepes, but these make me want to try.
The little dolls here are adorable, and based on a free pattern.
I started sewing a dress this week, but it would be super cool to sew this.
So intrigued by this strawberry crochet, but I can’t find the instructions.

I caught some sort of weird stomach bug yesterday, so I spent the day sipping water and watching Gossip Girl. And then I had to stop watching after a while, because I start to feel so anxious for the characters. But I’m feeling much better today, so I have a lot of work to catch up on!

I am riding a sewing high after finishing my shirt, so I was excited to find all these totally do-able looking sewing projects.
Some chocolate chip cookies with honey, for your Valentine hunny.
A tutorial for cute crochet mocassins!
Paper cut style fonts.
A pretty chart for flowers that help save the bees!

We are going on a date to the Lego movie today, and we’ll probably share some popcorn. Maybe his hand will brush up against mine. Our knees will touch in the dark. He’ll do that coughing, stretching, arm over my shoulder move. Then we’ll laugh at funny talking Legos. I can’t wait.

My shirt sewing is coming along smoothly so far. Its very fascinating. Like learning one of the tiny secrets of the universe.

A couple things that I noticed this week:

Pretty handmade knitted hats
Cute wearable interpretation of a mountain range
Felted bowls for plants
How the super cold weather makes me feel
Donuts are Olympics food, right? Rings? Gonna try these.
We are watching the opening ceremonies tonight, and attempting to make a version of this soup.

It probably started with the floppy hat I HAD TO HAVE for Hawaii. I couldn’t possibly lay on the beach without one, and I am pretty sure it was the first non-food item my guy bought for me after we got married.

Hats are the coolest. A big old hat makes you look mysterious and awesome, especially if it hides your face a bit. So much drama. I also love that during some eras, your outfit wasn’t complete without a matching hat. It was necessary.
