The leaves are definitely falling, and its time to figure out a tiny costume for the little guy. We always called him a little pumpkin while he was growing, but he would honestly look adorable in anything. Also, our oven has been broken, but as soon as it is repaired, we are so excited for all the baking (like that pear crisp) and roasting!

the fall garden
Our late summer garden wasn’t too impressive, but to be fair, we have been focusing most of our energy on growing a tiny human. I am looking forward to getting back outside in the dirt though! Especially with my new garden partner. For the fall, we are planning on some varieties of lettuce and kale, along with maybe a broccoli or two. Lots of good green veggies!
the return of longhorn football
Jon is so happy to have his football back. We try to plan an appropriate meal every weekend to go with the game, like burgers or chili, but how fun are these hook em donuts!
chocolate almond cookies
Since I’ve been feeding this little guy around the clock, I have a never ending craving for cookies. I froze some chocolate chip cookie dough before he came, but I had a bit of time to whip up something different over the weekend. These flourless chocolate almond cookies turned out very good, and (comparatively) healthy too!

grilling a pizza
We grilled pizza! Something we wanted to try all summer. Turns out, its not difficult at all, and makes a super tasty pizza! We made pizza dough in the bread machine, then made little pizzas with leftover chicken, bbq sauce, green peppers, onions, and zucchini.
We still have some more dough in the fridge for pizzas later this week too!
a new deck
Baby has a little corner in our room, so we didn’t do any big nursery makeover. But after he arrived, we did build a bigger deck! It’s been so nice to enjoy it while we get a little morning sun on our faces. We hope to move the grill up there and get a little table and chairs soon! Can’t wait for a little bit cooler weather!
