We had a little get together, and my gift for the table were these pumpkin donuts with pecans (recipe here). I am beginning to think that people only invite me for the treats.

I can always rationalize a reason to make cookies. Especially gingerbread cookies. These ones were shaped like pumpkins, owls, bats, ghosts, coffins, bear cubs, and porcupines.

when in austin: easy tiger
I have a major obsession with baked goods. I could stare (and smell) them all day. I don’t even need to eat them to appreciate them. That is why Easy Tiger is the best. They basically use the bread as art. Bonus points to them because you can watch them baking, and it also tastes as good as it smells.

birthday cake + drive-in movie
The guy’s birthday weekend was spent eating cake, enjoying some bbq, and going to see a drive-in movie at the Blue Starlite Drive-In Theater. If you haven’t been to a drive-in, we highly recommend it. We felt like a high school couple from the 50s.
