Another good idea stolen by someone else

So this weekend while the Girl was baking up a storm, I had an idea that someone should be making phone and tablet accessories that protected people’s devices while they used them to look up recipes and cook in the kitchen! I had thought I was on to something because when I searched for the phrase “case for phone while cooking or baking” it returned limited results that appeared promising to me that I might have stumbled across an untapped market…

Christmas Present #4

I don’t know know how the girl does it, but she always knows what I need! For Christmas present #4 I was on the road on a work trip and I needed something to write with and right before I went to some gift shop to buy some, I got some super awesome fine tip pens! What a pleasant surprise.

What could it be?

Christmas Present #2

I have always been a bit jealous inside of this very soft and warm looking pair of socks that the girl has and wears around the house when it’s cold outside….but I am jealous no more! For surprise #2 I got a pair of moose socks that I’ve already started wearing around the house. Happy days!

Moose socks…you know you want a pair.

A goose sighting

I just got back from a recent work trip to Denver and I had a goose sighting! I kind of forgot how large of a bird a goose is, but when you see them up close as you’re driving through a neighborhood it’s a reminder that they are quite large birds. Speaking of which, did anyone else know that geese were frequent in Denver suburbs? Because it was a surprise to me!

Christmas Present #1

My fiance has decided that she is going to try and Christmas me the hardest this year (even though I won just for this year because of this by at least a slim margin) and she has developed a super fun plan of giving me one present a day until Christmas starting on 12/1. It’s awesome because they can be anything!

Christmas present #1 was being eyeballed by Marley a little bit…

And it turned out to be a super sweet Evernote moleskin notebook that I’m able to take on my work trip this week! I can’t wait to test it out because supposedly I can handwrite notes and then take a picture of it with my app and it will digitize my notes for sorting later! Stay tuned!

Cool new iPad app

I found a new iPad app to test editing photos with over the holidays. For anyone who knows me, I am not a photoshop savvy kind of guy (which is why the girl is much more skilled in that arena!) and so that is why when I found this app I thought I would give it the ol’ college try and I think I did ok! Just don’t look too closely at the yellow crumbs.

I used a simple picture of the birthday cake I made for the girl this past week. Overall it’s a pretty cool app that I’ll be trying on some other pictures later so stay tuned…

Candy-filled doughnuts

This weekend the girl and I went about making homemade fried doughnut holes! It was a lot of fun and the girl ended up making two batches of dough which meant that I had some left over to play with, which of course means I took some left-over Halloween candy and shoved it inside some doughnut dough and fried it. For one I used the inside of a Reese’s Cup and then for the other I used half of a Crunch bar. They both turned out really good, but I don’t think anyone could eat the whole thing. Or maybe it was because I had already had 3 or 4 regular doughnut holes that day already. The world will never know. :)
