Its almost time to start thinking of holidays, but not quite yet. I am a firm believer that Christmas starts after Thanksgiving.
These salt dough ornaments are a good intro into holiday time. They don’t scream Christmas, but they probably wouldn’t kick Christmas out of bed for eating crackers either.
I used this recipe here. On the stamped ornaments, I rubbed a little gold ink on the raised parts. Very classy. I also made animal shapes. Because elephants are cute.
What a really neat blog. Have you ever given thought to the “The Natural Side of Art?”
These are adorable! I have some really cute cookie cutters that would work perfectly for this! And they’ll be perfect little gifts for my friends that are starting their lifetime journey with collecting memorable Christmas ornaments! :) Not to mention a fun craft I can do with the girls I babysit. Thanks for this lovely “easing into Christmas” craft idea!
Thank you! It was a fun and simple (and not too messy!) craft, so it would be great for kids!
The funniest thing I’ve heard all day: “They don’t scream Christmas, but they probably wouldn’t kick Christmas out of bed for eating crackers either.” Hahahaha! Where did you find the stamps?
I got the stamps as a gift! They are Rycraft cookie stamps.
