Cutting up clothes you just bought always feels like you are doing something wrong, so its oddly satisfying. Like making cut-off shorts. Even the little act of hemming a dress feels like a crime at first, but I bought it, so it should fit ME. Now that this little summer dress doesn’t come down past my knees, it can be welcomed into my closet with open arms (or hangers). 
In between work, obsessively checking Twitter for updates about that royal baby, and watching live streams of hospital doors, I have been sew, sew, sewing for a local wholesale order. My favorite part is sewing their little eyes on and watching them come to life.
This little guy was a custom order. I usually make green rhinos, but this one wanted to be blue.
I have been searching for pocket squares for weeks. I knew I wanted a variety of patterns. I knew I was going to sew a little something on them. I found these squares at Hugh & Crye. I really liked the fun patterns, and the great price, so I snatched up a bunch of them.
I wanted to make them a gift for the men in the wedding. I cut out some little hearts, and sewed them into the corner of each square. What was once just a pocket square is now a special gift, because I put a little heart into it. (get it??)
I have been making quite a few custom orders lately. I really enjoy the challenge of creating something unique. This scientist bird was a twist on another bird in my shop. It was way too much fun designing a lab coat for a stuffed bird.
….hashtag awesome. I really think my first project as a married woman (still weird to say!) will be making a quilt. I had the urge to start one the other day, but making all these wedding invitations should probably come first. But I am excited to find a fun quilt pattern and get colorful fabric! My flame I am drawn to right now is a sewing project. Hand sewing. Its actually kinda obsessive and silly and no one will probably care, but it makes me happy and that’s all that matters, right? I’m just like one of these happy moths, I just can’t resist.
