We had breakfast for dinner last week, except instead of like an omelet, we had cinnamon rolls. Plus bacon and hash browns because we aren’t monsters. These ones turned out especially spirally, and we loved each and every one of them.
The recipe called these cinnamon and raisin buns, but let’s call things like we see them. These are cinnamon rolls with raisins rolled all up in them.
I have been playing with the bread machine. Its really a genius invention. The dough comes out so soft, like a baby. And yum, ate them with soup for dinner. One of my very favorite meals.
I am in the category of people who show they care by making things. In the case of birthdays, this usually means treats. My beloved panda celebrated his birthday on Sunday. We filled the weekend with things he loves, including a trip to the Co-op, football, tacos, random errands, napping, and birthday cake. It also helped that it was just about the most perfect weather that ever existed on Sunday, and we ate our breakfast cinnamon rolls outside on the patio and didn’t even sweat a little bit. Happy birthday, my most wonderful husband. I can’t wait for thousands of more birthdays.
There is a bakery near our apartment. It probably takes less than 5 minutes to drive there, but on Sunday, we decided to walk.
We drive to most places, so we are really not great judges on how long it takes to walk somewhere. But the guy guessed it almost exactly right! It took us a little over 15 minutes to walk there, and it really didn’t even seem that long since we talked the whole time. It was a wonderful, relaxed morning, and it was great to get some fresh air, exercise, and of course, the delicious cinnamon roll.
Something about bakeries makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. I want to live in one someday.
